Now we are in a sound besides Nuapapu. We are going to Ha'apai, 75 miles away from Neiafu, with other two boats. In late October, Zen plans to leave from Tongatapu to New Zealand.

	０７００ＪＳＴ Ｒ５　Ｓ８- ９ 南緯　１８’３９ 西経　１７４’００ 天気：　晴 風：　E 8KNOT 気温：　２８度Ｃ 湿度：　６４％ 気圧：　１０１７hpa ネイアフに停泊中。 フレンチポリネシアで出会ったヨットが集合しており懐かしい顔ぶれに会うと抱き合って挨拶している。今週いっぱい１０／１２までいる予定。１０／１１にはエプリルフォースと唯我独尊と３艇揃うので盛り上がりそう。禅はハアパイ(Ha'apai)群島 に南下して、その後トンガタプ島(Tongatapu)のトンガの首都ヌクアロファ(Nuku'alofa)に入港し、 １０月末か１１月初めまで出航待ち。		0700 JST R5 S8-9 18' 39 S 174' 00 W Weather: Sunny Wind: E 8 knot Temp: 28 degree C Humidity: 64% Pressure: 1017 hPa Staying at Neiafu. You can see almost all sailboats we met in French Polinecia, so we often hug those friends. We are going to stay here until end of this week. In this Saturday, all three Japanese boats meet here, then we will liven up chat and parties. Zen will go south to Ha'apai Islands, then go to Nuku'alofa, Tonga's capital, at Tongatapu island. She will stay there until end of October or early November.

	０７００ＪＳＴ Ｒ５　Ｓ５ 南緯　１８’４２ 西経　１７４’０２ 天気：　晴・曇り 風：　入り江の中は風なし 気温：　２９度Ｃ 湿度：　６３％ 気圧：　１０１８hpa ローカルタイム１０月５日１２：３０pm（１０月５日０８：３０amＪＳＴ） ババウ入港。１４：００入り江にアンカーリングし唯我独尊、エイプリルフォースと合流した。小さな入り江に日の丸が三つひるがえっている。 トンガは、美しい所で島が沢山ある。 来てみてこんなに美しい所も珍しい。静かなアンカレッジが無数にある。トンガではなぜか日付変更線が１８０度を飛び出しているので日付は日本と同じで今日は１０月６日 月曜日１１時８分だ。（時差は４時間）　ここでは、日曜日には仕事をしてはいけないそうで、今日トンガのイミグレーションを受けるためネイアフ (Neiafu) の港に入る予定、ここから１時間の機走。エンジンの故障については、唯我独尊の片島さんが泳いでインテークホール（海水取入口）をみてくれて、ビニール袋が穴にくいこんでいるのが分った。これを取り除いて、今は快調になった。　Pago Pago の港は恐るべきところで、ビニールの袋などがプロペラに絡んだりするので有名。		0700 JST R5 S5 18' 42 S 174' 02 W Weather: Sunny/Cloudy Wind: Calm Temp: 29 degree C Humidity: 63% Pressure: 1018 hPa Entered Vava'u at12:30pm in Oct. 5 local time (16:30 in Oct. 4 PST). At 2pm, we anchored and joined other boats, Yugadokuson and April Fourth. Now I see three Japanese national flags. Tonga is beautiful and has a lot of islands. I've rarely seen such a great place. Lots of serene anchorages here. Somehow here in Tonga, the International Date Line protrudes from 180 degree line, then the date, Oct. 6 (Mon.) 11:08am, is the same as Japan with four hour difference. Since here working on Sundays is prohobited, we get immigration today at the port at Neiafu. It is going to take one hour by motor. Mr. Katashima at Yuigadokuson found out engine trouble by diving to intake hole, then he found a plastic bag there. After getting rid of it, Zen's motor works well. Pago Pago port is famous for contamination and many boats often get caught in plastic bags to their screws.

	０７００ＪＳＴ Ｒ５Ｓ９ 南緯　１７’０５ 西経　１７２’５０ 天気：　晴・曇り 風：　ESE 24KNOT 気圧：　１０１８hpa 艇速：　5 KNOT コース：　２０５度 残航：　１１７マイル 昨日は３５ｋｎｏｔ以上の風が吹き荒れた。 今朝になって少し落ち着いた。シケの後なのでヨットは波の谷間を走っている。小さいセールでもビュ−ン、ビューン走っている。　エンジンは一応回復した。Pago Pagoは ドロドロ水なので排水口が詰まったらしい。清掃してテストの結果、冷却水も順調に流れるようになった。 明日の今頃ババウに到着予定。 船酔いも回復してカップラーメンを食べるところだ。		0700 JST R5 S9 17' 05 S 172' 50 W Weather: Sunny/Cloudy Wind: ESE 24 knot Pressure: 1018 hPa Boat Speed: 5 knot Course: 205 degree 117 miles left Yesterday, we caught more than 35 knot of wind. This morning it calms down a little bit. After gale, the boat is running at the valley of waves. She runs so fast even she has very small sail. Her engine seems recovered. Probably water at Pago Pago is so dirty that drain seems to be blocked. After cleaning and testing, coolant start flowing. About the same time tomorrow, we will reach Vava'u. I got recovered from seasick and now I'm just start eating cup ramen.

	０７００ＪＳＴ Ｒ５　Ｓ９ 南緯　１５’３４ 西経　１７１’３４ 天気：　晴・雲 風：　ESE 28KNOT 気温：　３０度Ｃ 湿度：　７８％ 気圧：　１０１８hpa 残航：　ババウまで２３４マイル ローカルタイム１０月１日１３：００（１０月２日９：００amＪＳＴ） ババウ向け Pago Pago を出航した。 出航して間もなく湾を出ようとしたところで冷却水のブザーが鳴りエンジンが完全にストップした。多分取水口が詰まっているだろう。 昨夜から大シケで（寒冷前線）悩まされている。殆ど食べられない状態で水分だけ取っている。真横からの風で揺られておりセールを小さくしているが風があるので前進している。		0700 JST R5 S9 15' 34 S 171' 34 W Weather: Sunny/Cloudy Wind: ESE 28 knot Temp: 30 degree C Humidity: 78% Pressure: 1018 hPa 234 miles left to Vava'u At Oct. 1, 1:00pm local time (5pm PDT) we left Pago Pago to Vava'u. Right after that, alarm for cooling system rang and the engine stopped completely. Perhaps intake is stuffed. Since last night, we have been suffered by big gale. I almost can't eat and only try drinking. We are shaken by wind a beam. Zen goes forward even we reefed sail.

We can meet Yuigadokuson because Pago Pago's bad weather keeps her in it.

Then we fight to sail at the passage, and finally went into proper route at 2pm (Sep. 20 9am JST). Today's day run is 84 miles. We are behind of Yuigadokuson because Suwarrow was very confortable and we got storm. Yuigadokuson will leave Pago Pago early next week, and we didn't confirm yet whether they wait us or not.
