0700 JST At 6am yesterday, she left Lizard Island. I retract my last announcement to abondon sailing this season. When I was in bed to think about that, I couldn't sleep by regretting more and more. Thus, I bet the last chance by jumping out. This is single-handed leg as usual. Currently, she is sailing to Cape York. I will stop by Turtle Head Island on the way to Cape York and stay overnight, then leave for Thursday Island. Right now she is running with motor because of light wind and she has plenty of fuel. I think I had a good chance with such a calm weather. Since wind is so light, it will take two more nights to the island. I'd rather have more water than fuel. At Thursday Island, I will have supply then will think about when to start sailing. |

0700 JST At night, the wind is 35 to 40 knot so moving is almost impossible. Even larger boats cannot move. The sea is flowing like river, so my boat looks like running with 5 knot speed. I only have a quarter of water when I checked. There are many boats I know around here, so I can get many advices and would get help if something happens. One guy said he can be on board in Zen to Cooktown. However, I'd like to sail there by myself whenever I get chance. |

0700 JST Still the wind is rising. Last night, it was storm with rain. Now it's cleard, however. The waves are two meters, so I cannot get out from here. Off the coast is whiteout which I don't want to see much. If this kind of weather keeps, I have to postpone to go ahead and have to go back to Cooktown, 50 miles south, Cairns or Port Douglas, 100 miles south. Then I am thinking to have medical check for myself. After 10 days passed, still there is no sign to cease this strong wind. If I go back those ports, supply food and water, and have health check, I may have to abondon sailing this season. |

In one more week, water will be gone so I'm thinking about to return to Cairns (140 miles from here) or Cooktown (50 miles). Since I'm not familiar with COoktown, I feel Cairns is more convinient. If I keep sailing to the direction of Thursday Island, I may run out water and food by taking shelter somewhere. Without water and food, I cannot sail. Also, it is tough to sail against 25 knot wind. Even if I go back to Cairns, I don't know I can go back sailing under my current health condition. |

There is no grocery store, and a hotel here serves meals only for guests. It seems that this strong wind will keep until this Friday. Since weather forcast doesn't say, I have no idea after that. I have no more unread books which I brought from Japan. Every evening I go to bed at eight. |

0700 JST Still the wind is roaring. I hope it will calm down about three days later, but in my experience, windy days may continue for a week to 10 days. I am razy to put dinghy down and collect, so I haven't landed myself yet. They say the place where I am, Lizard Island, is one of the most beautiful island in Great Barrier Reef. Flinders Island, where I am going to, is near Cape York and in a big bay called Lady Charlotte Bay. There is an island with the same name in Tasmania, though. Or, I may pass this island and have an overnight sailing to Night Island, which isn't in ordinary maps, if weather and wind aren't bad. After the island, I can sail to Turtle Head Island for a night. I was looking at land since Cooktown, but I could not see any house. It impacted me how large Australia is. (Today, we can hear from Cima. She is in Friday Island at 10° 36' S, 142° 10'.) |

0700 JST On June 19, Zen had sudden stop at Bundaberg in the morning because he was very sick. Mr Kizuna of "Beyond One" which also moors at Bundaberg helped him to take to a hospital. It took three hours to diagnose, and there was nothing wrong. Therefore, no prescription was issued at all. According to the doctor, he probably accumulated stress because of waiting for storms' passage and because of the fact that he has not sailed for a long time. Since it's urgent and special case, the doctor didn't charge Zen. Today at 6:30am, he will leave Bundaberg and go ahead to Rosslyn, which is 133 miles ahead. [We haven't confirmed when Zen left Mooloolaba since we couldn't reach Zen by radio.] |
０７：００ ＪＳＴ ６月１９日午前中にバンダーバーグに入港しました。これは体調不良のための緊急入港で、同じバンダーバーグに入港していたヨット【ビヨンドワン】の木綱先生のお世話で病院に行き３時間の緊急診療をしてもらいました。結果はなんともないということで薬も出ませんでした。たぶん、強風のための待機としばらくぶりの航海でストレスがたまったのだろうということです。 緊急入港、緊急診療ということで無料ですみました。本日午前６：３０にバンダーバーグを出航し１３３マイル先のロスリンへ向かいます。 （無線がつながらなかったので、いつムールラバーを出航したのかはまだわかりません。） |
